A London-based artist, Sarah had multi-disciplinary training when she was in Art college, from drawing, design, embroidery, painting, and sculpture to stained glass. Originally from Singapore, she obtained a diploma in Art and Design before moving to London where she graduated with a BA(Hons) in Central St Martins – University of The Arts London.

Her favourite medium is oil, using the classic style of oil painting techniques to create contemporary pieces.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Sarah tells a story on canvas, she captures a moment, a feeling that resonates with the viewers. Her inspiration comes from observing life and exploring a concept, or a theme that people can relate to. Her approach to her style of painting varies, a more realistic approach to portraits and observational subject matters and a more contemporary style for a conceptual one.

The diversity comes from her background, originally from Singapore, she now lives and works in London. She was once a classical chorister and subsequently manages a Hip Hop dance company. Diversity in ideas and culture fuels her imagination.

She creates her painting using oil, which gives the vibrancy and texture it needs for the piece. She sometimes also uses pen and paper to create intricate drawings from imagination.
