Biographical Artist Statement: PAT FALLON
Pat Fallon’s work is contemporary abstract realism. She calls it magic realism. Pat says she is “fascinated by the concept of a universe full of the movement of particles that we know exist because they have left traces in a cloud chamber. Next to that understanding, magic realism abstractly expressed in visual art seems tame.” Pat Fallon comes from a rich cultural background that includes family members who are, or were, Irish, Spanish, French and Italian pirates, poets, professors, admirals, scientists and rum-runners. She was raised reading the magic realism of Cervantes Don Quixote and Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ Soledad. She says she believes the world needs to see her work. In her own words “ I abstract in order to reach a contemporary audience, one that needs to understand where we are and wants to know where we are going.”
