Marcelle Mansour

Marcelle Mansour is a Sydney-based Australian Multidisciplinary Visual Artist. Primarily painter, digital Artist, photographer, light artist, poet, author, bilingual writer and Ambassador for Peace. Her educational background is two Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) and Studio Arts (MSA), from University of Sydney and previously a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Literature. Marcelle began drawing from early childhood and grew up creating art before computers, and social media. She has been professionally practicing arts for many years and held numerous national and international solo and group art exhibitions with acclaimed artists in prestigious venues in Sydney, New York, Paris (Louvre), Venice and London. Her work spans from representational art through to abstract, digital, and light art in a variety of mediums and styles. She is interested in creating work that engages with the subjects which make audience part of her work. Marcelle painted portraits for prominent multicultural Australians including the NSW Premier and professional leaders, her art is primarily focused on contemporary realistic portraiture in various mediums of pastel, oil, acrylic and digital. Marcelle draws inspiration from a wide art sources ranging from Art History, philosophy, spirituality, humanity, light and perception, women, social issues and color. Marcelle published some of her art in “Shifting Waves” book and was selected as a Role Model on cultural aspects in 1996 by Universal Woman. She received numerous, awards, prizes, art grants, and participated in the 21st Biennale of Sydney. As a light Artist, Marcelle Mansour’ Solo Light Art Exhibition of “Threshold”, was acknowledged by UNESCO International Year of Light (IYL) as a part of the UN International Year of Light, (IYL) has earned Marcelle The Ambassador for Peace in April 2015. In 2017 Marcelle was honored to be awarded the Order of Australian Medal (OAM) with the approval of Queen Elizabeth II and won an Honorable Mention Award in All Women International Online Juried Art Exhibition by J. Mane online gallery in 2021.
