Klaus Biliczky

Klaus Biliczky is a versatile German artist who lives in Bavaria. He prefers an experimental approach and does not limit himself to a specific genre, technique or material. His series of works reflect beauty and decay or take a critical stance on political and social developments. His works are represented in national and international exhibitions.

Texture and materiality, as well as the haptics produced, are his preferred means in working on his pictorial themes. Klaus Biliczky deliberately keeps the intuitive working process open. Nothing must be fixed for him from the outset so that new themes can arise in such an open painting process. Klaus Biliczky leaves the traces of the work process he has gone through partly consciously visible, especially since these ultimately symbolize the transience of things and the process of change to which everything on our earth is subject. The permanent change becomes particularly clear in the emergence of something new from the decay. For Klaus Biliczky, the experimental way of working is elementary, and he does not limit himself to certain genres, techniques or materials. Thus oxidation also exerts a special fascination on Klaus Biliczky, which is why he has dedicated himself for years to the „rusting" of pictures on canvas in his work cycle. For Klaus Biliczky, rust and patina symbolise the poetry of transience. Beyond idealised aesthetics, rust and patina with its morbid charm as a means of pictorial expression finds its very own beauty in his works. Natural metamorphosis, colour and form, material and creative processes form a symbiosis. In his graphic and sculptural works, Klaus Biliczky prefers a formative conceptual approach in which he refers to social and political problems as well as social changes. Klaus Biliczky is a freelance artist and autodidact who exhibits his works nationally and internationally and was awarded the Ansbach Art Prize Special Sculpture Prize in 2018.
