Artist Bio:

Cody was born in New York in 1989, and started drawing at two years old. He is mainly self-taught, and therefore his vision is not influenced by any particular school of thought. He has been working professionally as an artist since 2013, and is currently based out of New York and Los Angeles.

Artist Statement:

When I am inspired by something, I want to engage with it. Art is how I do that. Be it a landscape, pop culture, another person, the behaviours of society. The list of things that inspire me is ever evolving, and I'm always searching for the best way to represent the subject, while conveying the way it makes me feel. There are many languages under the umbrella of art to speak with. Each have their own unique phrasings, and sayings that I find suit themselves to certain subject matter better than others. That has really been the challenge for me, not only identifying which medium to use, but learning how to express myself clearly in each of the various mediums and styles all while leaving my fingerprint in the work. Collaboration is a big part of my work as well, though much of the time it is the environment around me that I am collaborating with - the culture, the land, etc… but collaborating with other creatives is probably my favorite thing of all.
